Dental Braces Options
You’ve seen dental braces in people both young and young at heart. Dental Braces are seen as the “go to” when it comes to perfecting smiles. Dental braces can correct crooked and crowded teeth, a misaligned bite, and jaw problems. Traditional braces have come a long way over the years, becoming sleeker, smaller, and more comfortable. And that’s certainly something that deserves a smile. Did you know that there are various dental Braces Options?
Here at Ehrler Orthodontics we have traditional and non-traditional braces. The type of braces that are selected is determined by the needs of each individual patient. The non-traditional braces we offer are lingual and clear aligners.
To give you a better understanding, below are definitions for the braces we offer.
Traditional braces consist of standard metal brackets that are attached to your teeth with an adhesive and connected by wire. They require periodic tightening so pressure can gradually straighten your teeth and align your jaw as needed.
Lingual Braces (Hidden Braces) are applied behind the teeth as compared to metal braces (traditional) which are applied to the front of the teeth. Since lingual braces are adhered behind your teeth, they are hidden from plain view.
Clear aligners can straighten a dental patient’s teeth without the wires and brackets of traditional braces. Clear aligners are suitable for patients with mild or moderate crowding, or minor spacing issues. Here at Ehrler Orthodontics we offer Orchestrate (developed by Dr. Ehrler)
Unlike traditional braces and lingual braces clear aligner trays can be removed for brushing, flossing, and eating. Because the trays are clear, patients can undergo this type of orthodontic treatment without the usual discomfort associated with regular braces.
